Making Requests

After logging on to ILLiad the following options are available:

New Request List: This list is presented for the user to choose the material type that best matches the type of request you are making. Photocopy of an article and Book are the most common requests.

Things to Remember When Requesting:

  • Before submitting a request for a book, check the library catalog to ensure that MCC or any other community college in the district does not own the item. If the book is owned by another college, you may request that book through the MCC catalog by going into the item record and clicking on "Request Item." You will be asked to enter your MEID (Maricopa Enterprise ID) and password (the same password used to sign in to Canvas and email).
  • Before submitting a request for an article, ask a Librarian at the Reference Desk or use Ask a Librarian for help finding an article that you could use that the library does own.
  • For faster processing of requests, go to www.worldcat.org to find the item's information (author, title, ISBN/ISSN, etc.) to enter into you request. Make it as complete as possible.
  • Review the "ILL FAQs" tab and the "Policy and Copyright"
  • You can only have a total of FIVE requests at any one time.

The following materials cannot be requested:

      • Items MCCCD already has in its book collection or in its databases
      • Textbooks for classroom use
      • Entire issues of periodicals
      • Multiple articles from the same journal
