Domestic Violence Library Display, February 2018
In February, 2018, the MCC library staff built a display about domestic violence in dating and the #metoo movement. The display is inspired by a performance called I Have This Friend... being presented by Fix the Hurt on campus at the MCC Theatre on March 1, 2018. The performance is a forty-five minute story about dating violence and illustrated the escalation of abusive behaviors. The titles for the display were carefully selected by library staff to draw attention to domestic violence and sexual assault. Included in the display is a whiteboard that allows library patrons to anonymously bring awareness to dating violence by affixing heart shaped sticky notes to the whiteboard.
