Using the Library for Children's Materials and Research
This Guide will introduce students to print and electronic resources in the field of Children’s Literature. This field is a vast and exciting specialty in literature. Areas of research can include:
- study of the genres of literature for children,
- author
and illustrator research
- selection of appropriate materials for specific purposes
- multicultural literature
- awards of excellence
- the pleasure of reading children's books.
It is important to distinguish between finding
actual children’s books and sources about children’s literature.
