Why do Company Research?

You came across an interesting job advertisement but you are not familiar with the company, or, you landed an interview for that seemingly perfect job but you don't know much about the company. Before applying for that job or heading to that interview, you need to do some research! Things you may want to consider:

  • What does this company do?
  • Does it have multiple locations - in the U.S. or international?
  • What is the history of the company?
  • How many employees work for this employer?
  • What products do they make or what services do they provide?
  • Is it a public or private company?
  • Is this company doing well financially?

The library has multiple resources in print and online that will help you find the answers to these and many more questions when you are researching a company.

Books in the Library

The following books for researching companies are available in the library. Books with a "Ref" designation are reference material that can not be checked out of the library.
